Registry Repairs and Your Computer’s Health

There was a time we didn’t think too much about registry cleaners, or register repair software. Back in the days of Windows 95/98, our biggest enemies were computer viruses. Even though computer viruses are probably our biggest enemy still today, a corrupt registry can cause many computer problems!

With today’s operating systems being so enormous compared to the old Windows 95/98 size, a corrupt registry gets in the way of our computing more than it used to. Though there are new viruses that come out every day, our technology seems to be able to keep up with them better than in years past. Also, computer operators are better educated as to how to keep a virus from being executed on their computer.

How and why do we concern ourselves with registry corruption and what will happen to our computers if we don’t? These are the topics we will talk about in this article.

There is Always Something Entering Our Registries

Any time we add a program or any type of software to a computer, entries are put in the registry. These entries are used to direct the operating system and aid it in carrying out its commands. However, when the program or software is removed or upgraded these entries become false pointers that harm the operating system’s efficiency. These types of entries are known as registry corruption.

Temporary computer files are added to our registries by the boatload when we surf the Internet. Unfortunately, these files are left in the registry when we are through surfing and then they become registry corruption because they give the operating system directions to nowhere.

Believe it or not viruses, spyware, adware and all the other kinds of malware, though they are unwanted programs, are viable software programs so, when they are removed, they too leave registry corruption behind.

Though it may not seem like a serious problem at first, registry corruption can do serious harm to your computer operations and eventually your operating system. Corruption will jam up ordinary operations because the operating system will have to deal with thousands of entries telling the operation system to go to places that don’t exist. This will make your computer very slow and become prone to errors and crashes.

What To Do About Registry Corruption

The problem is our software and drivers and everything else we deal with in today’s computing world are much, much larger than they were just a few years ago. So, it stands to reason that registry corruption is a much, much bigger concern than it was a few years ago, as well. So, a lot of corruption in an operating system will definitely cause a lot of problems!

Getting rid of registry corruption is as easy as having a good registry cleaner installed on your computer. To remain free of corruption, you should run the registry cleaner once a week or so and after your virus and or spyware cleaner has removed a virus or spyware. To run at peak efficiency, a computer must be free of spyware/viruses and registry corruption.
